The "quality" setting
(too old to reply)

Please allow the user the privilege of overriding the "quality" setting for all
Flash objects.
Can't be too hard to implement, surely?

It would certainly help for those of us with older PC's. A global "low"
setting might
mean the difference of a usable experience Vs. an almost hung computer, due to
the cpu relief.

The player is dumb. Why not include some logic to detect older, slow cpu's and
to take steps to mitigate the cpu usage?

Why not include a "STOP" button in the right click menu?

The stuttering, audio and video, 100% cpu usage - often, the only recourse is
to use the task manager to
terminate the whole browser process.

I completely agree with davexnet, it's a pain in the...mm... eyes... to
see my YET NOT SO OLD computer stuck on a page full of banner, adds, videos,
etc, when I just wanted to read the news.

For those who will send me to buy another computer: I will not waste my money
just because commercials eat lots of cpu.

I vote for a global configuration option to override the quality of flash
animations.

I'm sure, many of you don't want the power of your cpu wasted on calculating
beautiful-hi-precision-state-of-the-art antialiasings just for showing you a
banana and asking you to buy it.

And yes, I know that is one of the most frequent targets for a flash anim, but
at least... let us choose the type of antialiasing for drawing the bananas.

These are bad times. Old computers are not trash. Financial and ecological
disasters show that we must be very careful for not wasting resources. Adobe
must remember that old computers (a 5 years one as mine) is not a useless
computer. Adobe CAN TURN IT USELESS if it keeps giving support to the old
Wintel paranoia; if something turns your computer slow and you don't notice the
real reason, you will throw it to trash and buy another. Thats what many boards
of rich directors want yo to think, don't let them fool you!!!
